From Fremantle, Austrailia, Torvar Mirsky began his career in sailing early in life, winning the Sub Junior Mirror Australian National Championships when he was just 12 years old. He has since sailed competitively in a number of dinghy classes including Lasers, 420’s, 505’s and 49ers.

At the beginning of the 2006 sailing season, Torvar began his climb of the world rankings and after 2 years sat in 4th place on both the ISAF and World Match Racing Tour leader boards at only 22 years of age. In 2010 Torvar was name the West Australian Sailor of the Year.
