ROBERT ALLENBY CRUISES THROUGH SPAIN
After winding down the PGA Tour FedEx Cup last month, Kaenon’s Robert Allenby wearing Hard Kore, Black, C50 lens, took his game to the European PGA Tour – in particular – two events in Spain. After leading the Castello Masters in Castellon De La Plana, Spain, he finished second, and used this as a tune-up for the Volvo Match Play Championship also held in Spain. At the top of his game, he cruised his way through the brackets of this Match Play Championship undefeated, thus, setting up the grudge match of the year against American Anthony Kim in the Semi-Finals. Allenby lost to Kim last month in singles match play during the President’s Cup, where an off-the cuff comment from Robert put him in the media’s hot seat and upsetting Kim. Kim continued to get the best of Allenby relegating Robert to the Petit-Finals, where he won his match to earn 3rd overall. After a brief stop in China last weekend at the HSBC Championship Allenby headed back down to his native Australia to compete on the Australian PGA Tour before heading back for the PGA Tour in January. CHRIS LARSON WINS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
“It was an incredible week! Richard was awesome, had to be the yellow lenses!” said winning skipper Chris Larson in reference to his tactician Richard Clarke's choice in eyewear and lens tint (Hard Kore, Y35 lens) while making all the calls that gave Larson and his teammates another world title. Richard agreed, “I owe it all to my yellow lenses!!!!!! Seriously in that overcast monochrome soup we sailed in they were perfect,” said Richard Clarke, the former Canadian Olympian. At the 2009 Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis Melges 24 World Championships, Kaenon Polarized was clearly present on many of the top teams, including Larson and his winning crew.
In congratulating the guys, they responded with excitement and enthusiasm, not just on their win, but the special tool they had used to their advantage in the mostly light and fluky regatta. Like several top tacticians in the game, when the weather turns cloudy, misty and even rainy, Richard Clarke, along with the likes of Brad Butterworth and Ray Davies always rely on Kaenon’s Yellow polarized lens tint at 35% light transmission to cut through the “monochrome soup,” and enable the them to read and recognize the subtle breeze and current details.
Rounding out the all-Kaenon sporting crew were: helmsman Chris Larson in Hard Kore, C12 lens, Mike Wolfs wearing UPD, G12 lens, Curtis Florence in Kore, C12 lens and tactician Richard Clarke wearing Hard Kore, Y35 lens. Continue with the full story here.
